What I've been reading...

I blogged here about some of my favourite bloggers at the moment but felt I should take a minute to acknowledge some of my other favourites who inspire my little space of the internet. Some of these lovelies have hundreds of followers while others may only have a few (at the moment) but they are all definitely worth taking a look at if you haven't before, so without further ado...

First up is Olivia from what Olivia did. You may well have already looked at this blog but this girl with her 60s style outfits and beautiful photography of everything from baking to cityscapes first introduced me to the blogging world and, as a result inspired me to start my own - OK I'm getting a little fan girl here, but her blog is definitely worth checking out!

Next up is a slightly different kind of blog. Emma Block is one of my favourite illustrators, her blog is filled with her own work as well as posts on other artists, trips out and about and of course gorgeous photographs. Best of all she has been developing this blog since she was 16 meaning there is plenty of archived posts for you to have a gander at.

Another blog I regularly check out is far newer. Emma over at Reverie lane only started blogging in April of this year, not that you'd guess it by the standard of her posts! Her blog is the perfect mix of pastels and pretty things while her simple things posts are bound to cheer you up.

Finally if you are looking for a blog to cheer you up in this wet rainy weather Sally at sallytangle is always worth visiting. Her wonderful Wednesdays are the perfect midweek pick me up. Not to mention  her flower photographs!

Fiction Bucket List

I recently discovered vivatramps blog and the fictional bucket list she created on there and well, what can I say - I was inspired!

As an avid reader of anything cereal boxes, magazines, newspapers you name it my list of favourite books is never ending. However I managed to wittle down a few of my top choices for this challenge - a fictional bucket list of things I would absolutely LOVE to do if I had the chance.

Visit the Weasleys burrow for the summer holidays (I know they don't in this book but this cover is by far my favourite)

Hang out with Augustus and Hazel Grace in Holland

Solve mysteries with Sherlock Holmes

Live in the Banana House

Sit reading with Jo March 

So there you go thats just a couple of my ideas. What would you do? I'd love to hear your thoughts or comments. Maybe you might like to do this list as well. I definitely recommend it. 

Books of my childhood.

I have been feeling a bit down in the dumps inspiration wise recently - although hopefully this lovely weather may help sort that out- so decided to take a flick through some of my favourite books from childhood.

This first one is perhaps one of my all time favourites. Written and illustrated by Shirley Hughes I love everything about the book, especially how the simple story line goes with the complex illustrations. In my eyes a real winner!

Second up is this one by Alan and Janet Ahlberg. I love all of their work but the "Jolly Postman" series complete with pull out letters is definitely my favourite of all. I even had the computer game when I was younger!

This next one was actually my sisters books so I came to it much older but nevertheless I really love the illustrations and story, especially Lauren Childs use of real life images on top of her drawings. Reading any of these books always makes me desperate for a glass of strawberry milkshake! Also if you have never checked out Laurens blog click here its a work of art in itself!

Finally its the age old classic Judith Kerr, I love this book and its idea and there really isn't much else to say on the subject. I firmly believe every child should have a copy of this on their book shelf and in fact should read as many of Kerrs books in their life as they can - including when Hitler stole pink rabbit, based on her own experiences in WW2.
