I'd be the first to admit that cars are not my top love. I have yet to master driving without someone in the passenger seat with emergency pedals and most of my opinions are based on "oo I like that colour," but when offered a weekend of dressing up and partying I am not one to turn anything down. And so, dear reader, I found myself attending Goodwoods 72nd Members meeting with the rest of my family (who also happened to be seasoned attenders of the revival held in September)
Despite a lack of interest in cars I have to admit I didn't have a minute to be bored. I mean where else can you eat a slice of cheese on toast and chips in the sun, drink champagne in a tent decorated with pink lanterns and fairy lights, fish and chips in a dandelion themed tent or even a traditional school dinner in the great hall?
If your not to full after that - there really was a lot of food- you could make your way to the sports day themed activities, take a tractor ride around the track or just sit and sunbathe in the glorious weather - OK this wasn't Lord Marches doing but it was definitely a bonus!
I even got interested in the racing - (choose a car you like and cheer it on) which is much more interesting in the flesh than on TV. But perhaps the best part of all was the evening party, think funfair, disco and fireworks all rolled into one and your almost there. The only difficult thing was coming home yesterday evening!
What did you do this weekend?
